They stole so much more than that. I think what pisses me off the most is all the school activities my kids are missing out on and will never experience. Virtual prom and graduation?! Are you fucking kidding me?? And they’ve never even seen most of they’re classmates faces which makes me so sad to think about. I guess I might understand even if 1% of kids/adolescents were getting sick and dying but. ZERO of them are dying and the ones that get it don’t even know they have it for the most part
The ones dying from this are the same people who would die any other flu season - the elderly, those with preexisting conditions, weak immune systems, etc. It's sad, but it happens every flu season. There was no reason to react to Covid this way.

For sure. Visual facial communication is very important and young children are deprived of that. There are short windows in childhood development where these connections form.
Many young kids haven't seen an adult - aside from their parents - smile in a whole year. That's what makes me sad. Masked muppets at the grocery store talking to my three-year old, and he doesn't know how to respond to a duffle bag with eyes.
