I feel much the same way about firearms as I do pot (and just about everything else): people should be responsible in the ownership and handling of said firearms, and of course there are going to be a lot of dumbfucks who simply will not be. I like to call it The Law of Why We Cannot Have Nice Things.
As in everything one must balance one's desire for personal liberty with a responsibility towards the rest of the world while acknowledging that there will be fucking morons out there who will do nothing of the sort. To think otherwise is to live a lie.
Right now, locally, the morons are having a field day at the local pot shop...it eventually will create a backlash more than likely. Hence, my 50/50 pro/con split with a side order of "meh".
