You travelled to a beautiful rich new land and left all the problems of Europe behind you. You then, not through any fault of your own, promptly forgot those troubles, so busy were you in developing and taming this new land.
When European troubles came to your shore, you didn't recognise it. You were busy in your farms and towns, so you invited them into your cities. You gave them positions of power and influence.
While you had forgotten the trouble they had caused, they had not changed their ways. They used those positions of power and influence to enrich themselves and other members of their tribe and subvert you. You had absolutely no defence against it.
Other nations in Europe knew what the threat was, but in your naivete you failed to see it, believing that all men believed in the same just and fair principles as yourselves.
Now, many of you are beginning to see it, but it's too late for the Republic, that's gone. That died on January 6th, 2021. The question is, what are you going to do now for your children's future?
