lol You're not retarded or you would actually be arguing with me right now about $ placement.

In England, the £ sign goes in front of the number as well.

In Europe - other than the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, and Malta - all the other Euro countries do put the € sign after the number, and a lot of them do the same with the $, so I'm guessing them doing that online is confusing/influencing some young Americans like yourself.

Or maybe you confused it with ¢ sign, which does come after the number?

Probably I've put too much thought into this.
