The million dollar question really... I think since our currency is fiat based and we have accrued so much debt, its only a matter of time before the system becomes insolvent and we see more direct action by individuals. That could still be some years off. If could be 3 years, it could be 30 years. It really depends on how long the FED and nations like China allow us to keep up this charade. We cant live off of debt forever. Until then, most of us will continue to be fat and happy and grumble about how corrupt the system is but do almost nothing about it.
