I had procrastination down to a science in college and when I intended to write my research paper I would get lost in books that had nothing related to my research but this experience opened my eyes to the world of books. Now students just google and most of them never get beyond the first 2 or 3 pages of state approved sources and they never have that "discovery" phase. Looking back, everything that we did was "old school" but those ways worked.

There is no substitute for reading the WHOLE DOCUMENT, either. Using a search engine to grab and go with a desired quote is a losing proposition.
