It's how Denmark "solved" their down syndrome "problem."

Dane here!

We can screen for Downs when a woman has been pregnant for 16 weeks. A sample of the amniotic fluid is taken and analyzed for diseases included genetic ones such as Downs. Most people don't want a kid with Downs, so they'll get an abortion. It's not forced or mandatory, it's a hard decision that only the potential parents can make.

Not all women get tested, it's only if there is some kind of suspicion that the fetus isn't looking normal or the parents had prior complications. Here is a (link)[https://www.sundhed.dk/borger/patienthaandbogen/graviditet/undersoegelser/fostervandsproeve/], it's in Danish but you could translate it if you'd like.

Hitler would be proud but joke's aside that is a very hard decision probably the only time i'd consider an abortion and even then i don't know if i could since i've never been in that position

I don't like it, it's messed up. It's also going to be a quite late abortion on top of that.

But I also wouldn't want a child with Downs. They all seem really happy, but what are they actually going to have in life? They can't have a real job or an actual family. On a more serious note, I think they get a chemical castration over here. So that's kinda involuntary unless you dispute that with the fact that they don't know what's going on I guess. They are in fact quite sexually active, so you could end up with a lot of retard babies really quickly.
