EVERYONE KNOWS PEOPLE WHO WERE ONCE FRIENDS. BUT ONCE THEY BECAME A GOOD FRIEND THEY STOPPED BEING YOUR FRIEND AND INSTEAD USED YOU AS A BANNER OF VALIDATION TO GET MORE FRIENDS. THEY USE YOU TO MAKE THEMSELVES APPEAR MORE INTERESTING/IMPORTANT THAN THEY ARE. SOME EVEN GO SO FAR AS TO TRY AND USE YOU TO BENIFIT THE NEW FRIEND. THEY THINK THIS BEHAVIOR IS ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE YOU NO LONGER NEED TO BE PLEASED AS YOU ARE ALREADY CAPTURED.

GLOBAL COMPANIES ARE THE FRIEND, AND THE UNITED STATES IS YOU.

WHEN YOU WATCH YOU ARE BUYING THE COMMERCIALS AND YOU ARE BUYING THE BRANDING. STARTER JACKETS WOULD BE WORTHLESS IF THERE WAS NOT AN ARMY OF FANS THAT THOUGHT THEY WERE COOL.

You're wrong here. Just because something is "free" upfront, doesnt mean it's free. Anytime something is free, you (your data/viewership/etc) are the product. Example: facebook. It's free, but the reason they are so valuable is because of your data (for advertising etc).

If you watch the superbowl, you give them viewership. Advertisting money directly correlates to viewership. If 10 people watched the superbowl, a halftime commercial would cost 10 dollars. If 100 million watch it.... it costs millions.

So 1) dont buy their shit and 2) dont watch their shit.

DONT CALL ME DOPEY. GET SOME BALLS AND STOP BEATING AROUND THE BUSH LIKE A FUCKING COWARD. SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY.

NOTHING IS FREE. NOTHING. IF YOU THINK SOMETHING IS FREE THAN YOU ARE THE PRODUCT. THIS APPLIES HERE.

YOU ARE THE ITEM BEING SOLD. YOU ARE THE COMMODITY.

Advertisers are not going to want to advertise their products during sports games if there are no viewers. It's a minor impact comparing to not buying NFL tickets/NFL season pass, but the idea is that you want to start a domino effect and choke viewership numbers.

You having the channel on counts as a viewer.

Viewers = high ratings

high ratings = ad slots are more valuable

ad money that funds the nfl/nba etc...

Just find alternate sources to watch your sports that doesn't involve buying shit like NFL season pass or paying for cable TV. Advertisers are stupid so they aren't aware of people watching stuff like pirated streams and such.

Consuming their product is the same as buying their product.

Don't buy new cars anymore. I never do. I buy the dealer rental as soon as they begin to sell them right before 5k miles. I got a $25,000 subaru (I'm not liberal just want to drive in snow safely). For 19,000 out the door. Because it had 2,900 miles and a couple scratches in the paint you could hardly notice

That's pretty savy. I bought my car when it was still under factory warranty. I guess if I end up buying something older than that I'd do the same as you. I used to be a mechanic and know alot about car maintenance. And repair
