It's a bs term. It still means anybody who's not white, just like POC. Further, it gives credence to the lie that non-white men are more likely to be killed by the Police, when in fact the opposite is true.
The funny thing is, years ago, in my grandmother's time, they called them colored people. Then they decided that was racist and over the years the terms changed from black to African American and now we are back to basically colored people, only they just reversed the wording and say people of color. Then they added the black indigenous people of color (BIPOC) just because I think they realized people of color had gone full circle (Psaki would love how we've circled back!)
Lol now you make me feel old. I lived through them being called colored. Negro was never ok where I was though. It's funny that when "Americans of African descent" was considered respectful every black person I knew preferred to be called black.
Also interesting how black people want to find solidarity with Indians even though Indians owned black slaves.
Interesting idea! In the one source I looked at it doesn't convey that idea. Just POC preceded by black and indigenous. Asians prefer lighter skin, but even the lightest are easily distinguished from Europeans. So how are Asians included as white, or excluded from bipoc?
They want no BIPOC representation, apparently. Give it a few years and they will scream how Little Debbie is white and we need a black Little Debbie
Yes, they could make her black, give her the chronic, and call her "Little Doobie"!
You made me finally look up the meaning of bipoc.

BIPOC was created to exclude Asians because they are too successful for the narrative.
