Why didn't Trump have some A list lawyers like Powell on this second impeachment trial. Wouldn't this be the opportunity to get information about the truth to the masses?

Why didn't Trump use his starting lineup in this impeachment hearing? These lawyers seem like the B team and why didn't we have a big hitter like Powell or Rudy? Would they hurt or hinder the case?
