Have the greentards mentioned yet where they are going to dig the new landfills in which to bury all those broken windmill parts? They take up a lot of space and aren't recyclable.

there are multiple companies including tesla that are developing recycling technology that is orders of magnitude better than what exists today. my hats off to them for figuring out solutions to problems like this.

Don't worry - you and I will just pay more taxes to the government for the money needed to make battery recycling "sustainable"

3

I've personally observed the Government buy shit just to throw it away...its commonly referred to as a 'subsidy'...

4
dismybrowseacct 4 points ago +5 / -1

I once did consulting for a battery recycling company. It depends on what's in them and what price they're going to the recycler for. Battery recyclers jump through a lot of hoops due to the chemicals in them so if tesla makes the costs right it will be handled between manufacture/reseller and an industrial recycler.

Consumers are a different story. Not sure who's going to take it directly from the consumer. Maybe auto shops or auto retail chains? Some of them will recycle normal car batteries so it may fall under that category.

There is a lot wrong with tesla from a quality standpoint.

1
BourneTactical 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep, and not to mention the price to buy one that isn’t basic wheels/color with horrible range.

2
Bob383 2 points ago +2 / -0

Have they figured out how to make them without the coal needed for steel?

1
Sliced_Beef_Brisket 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's not entirely true. Thermosets can be acid digested and then neutralized. The recovered organics can be used to make new resins and the recovered fiber can be used to make new prepreg or preforms for infusion & RTM.

It's more complicated than regrinding thermoplastics and puting it back into the material stream, but recycling of thermosets can be done.

romanhelmet 14 points ago +14 / -0

And Germany, the poster child for green energy, is firing up their coal power plants to peak burn just to provide enough heat and electricity so the Germans don't freeze to death.

Never really thought this whole 'green energy' thing thru did they???

8
Moebius [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

They never do...

I have watched 'Engineers' design shit on paper, go through 'proof of concept' demos under closely controlled methods. then put their shit out in the 'real world' and discover a host of problems never considered...all while charging their customers for 'refits' and 'upgrades' costing them far more than the original costs.

Wind turbine companies are forced to provide a minimum amount of energy so ANY downtime costs them even more...and ostensibly can force them to shut down and go out of business if they don't meet their obligations...

9
romanhelmet 9 points ago +9 / -0

Wind turbines are designed to automatically shut down if they become unbalanced (due to blade damage or ice buildup)...

11
Truglow 11 points ago +11 / -0

They have to use helicopters to spray de-iced spray to get them operational. Kind of defeats the purpose.

7
Farage_massage 7 points ago +7 / -0

Could we use a coal-powered-electricity furnace to boil water to melt the ice?

6
Barthaneous 6 points ago +6 / -0

You'd think that all it would take to fix this would be a very low voltage thermal heater or copper wiring heating system that surrounds these solar panels and wind turbines that already power the heating systems.

But instead the left and these creators said " nahhh fuck it if it's cold they still got connection to the oil and gas lines".

7
Moebius [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

To heat a rotating blade assembly would require the use of a rotary power coupling to provide a voltage to the heating elements. Although its absolutely do-able, that is a significant potential failure point requiring close tolerances...especially with vertical surfaces.

5
TurdSammich 5 points ago +5 / -0

5
CaptainRumington 5 points ago +5 / -0

Nuclear energy doesn't freeze at temperatures we can obtain from weather.

5
SiBear117 5 points ago +5 / -0

Liberals never can explain how solar and wind works at nighttime, raining, snowing, winter, etc. Try to ask the question and they get angry and change the subject.

4
wdang 4 points ago +4 / -0

That's an easy problem to solve, just build a coal plant next to it to warm up the panels

4
hoopinfloyd 4 points ago +4 / -0

Simple solution just go take a propane torch and heat the snow and ice off.

Don't get me wrong. Wind and Solar definitely have a place...but we should not abandon Fossil Fuels (especially Nat Gas) and Nuclear on the say so of people with 'ulterior motives'...and certainly not on the word of an exploited 16 year old Environmentalist with 'emotional issues'...

EDIT: Greta is about 17 yrs now...and much more 'worldly'...but still a Ditz...

2
UsedOnlyThrice 2 points ago +2 / -0

Many wind turbines absolutely require some transient power to orient and at times get the blades moving, as well as keep the electronics running and the fluids warm. Some of them can use their own internal batteries for this but often it just comes from the same power main they supply when operational. Also, turbines can be used as a power sink when the supply is higher than demand.

They have an ideal ROI of under 5% though, so it would take 20+ years to start turning an "energy profit" and in that time cause countless issues with migratory birds, insects, AM/noise pollution. This is not to mention the maintenance including lubrication and frost control, nor the installation including the massive amounts of concrete and steel that need to be produced and delivered. These latter issues are rarely addressed when talking about actual benefit to the environment and instead the rhetoric is typically about long term cost savings, which are almost always artificial.

There is one thing we must accept which is that modern technology means that often most of us have nothing to do.

The problem is they're not honest. Instead they play mind games and they really don't care because they're all set but if they think we care they'll appeal to that.

I hate liars. I could probably agree with Gates on certain things like over population but to sterilise people in secret? I'd rip out his throat in public given the chance.

Sometimes the more they fear violence the more they deserve violence.

7
Moebius [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

3
muslimporn 3 points ago +4 / -1

What happens to them if we all lose our temper?

I won't shame you for staying in your pen.

Personally though I don't give a fuck. They can even kill me. I don't fear death like you. People today are idiots thinking it's a competition to live the longest. If you play it like that you lose.

You need to do enough in life to make it worth living. Well I did that despite all my disabilities. I got laid on my own even though I'm fucking autistic and got up to allsorts I'll not even mention.

I've lived all there is to live and have been stimulated almost to death. If you're staving off death then you failed, you never got enough out of it. You fucking suck.

I'm not even half average life expectancy now and I can say life was worth living despite being born in hard mode. Life expectancy was half just a few generations ago and nearly everyone was born in hard mode. What the fuck is wrong with you people?

The worst they can do is the best they can do, the real great reset, it's just another life or a continue. I am so bored death is the only remaining unknown. Do your worst.

It means nothing to me if they destroy my material being. My soul is immortal.

5
Moebius [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

I look at it this way...if they kill me, I will have WON...and I won't have anything to worry about ever again...

CAUTION: I still reserve my right to self-defense...

3
muslimporn 3 points ago +4 / -1

Death, the final frontier. I'm an explorer and I've explored it all. Even your mother's great caverns.

I reserve the right to other's self defence and if I'm able I'll get in the way so they have to shoot me first.

I don't recommend this way for everyone. If you haven't gotten enough out of life then you should try to and if need be ask those who can help if they can though ultimately it may be on you.

We must remember though. A hundred years ago today millions of our men left for king and country. If you were wondering around here and in that age women would shame you and if you were honourably discharged you had to get a government badge so that people wouldn't beat you up.

The mortality rate for males of fighting age in their prime was at least ten percent and would rise up to a third. You had a greater chance of being maimed or diseased. Perhaps at best a third or more likely a quarter men came back untouched. One in twenty men overall died at least most often marching into a hail of bullets and shells.

Now look at COVID-19. What the fuck? I guess the hypothesis is true. You see, twenty years ago we were debating if the world wars wiped out the bravery gene. Turns out yes it did and now mankind shall suffer.

Unfortunately some of my relatives slipped through for our genes to live until today. Enjoy my sacrifice. It'll be one of the last voluntary cases you'll ever see. When the last of us are wiped out and you're live stock they'll sacrifice you on a whim but you'll never be able to sacrifice yourself even for yourself let alone a noble cause.

A billion plastic poppies and yet not a single one tells the real gory story.

Their spirits have haunted me the most and you know what they tell me? Most of them sacrificed themselves even before they got anything out of life even on the off chance. I hear the millions of souls swirling around me and they are disgusted by you. They paid the ultimate price sacrificing themselves for the future so you could both live off their sacrifice and also sacrifice the future?

If you thought the dead we still you were wrong. They have all stirred within me a storm revolving twenty million souls per second. They paved the way to our future the one which we spoil. How fucking dare you disrespect our ancestors. I've over taken time and died before my time. I walk among the dead and the living. When you die and join them don't think you'll be joining arms with and embracing long lost cousins. We're pretty pissed off with you lot. They tell me you ought to miss them but they don't miss you.

I'm not afraid of the after life so much so I didn't even need to die but you lot... Try as you might you're all going to die, make your time. I really hope to die for a purpose especially now that I have lived so long and understand. Now my life is unimportant. I have satisfied it. It is time for another to take my place an enjoy the experience going from nothing to climbing the mountain to understanding everything not only the meaning of life but also that of death. What is important now is the future and the lives that follow mine.

Don't be afraid to join us in the halls of death. If you are then something is wrong with you. They ask me how did you die? I tell them I didn't yet. They say well that's strange but who am I to argue. They often tell me of how they deprived themselves the future for a better future for others.

Most people today their peers are the living. I think the dead felt so sorry for me being so alone they made themselves known.

4
Independenceforever 4 points ago +4 / -0

Even Elijah the prophet wanted to die and thought everybody had bowed down to face mask idols.

God said it was ok, he didn't have to stay. He'd anoint Elisha, Jehu, and Hazael to do his job for him.

And that there were yet 7000 who had not worshipped idols.

History has been proven this year. We're the same people our ancestors were.

God ordains trials and times of trouble for our learning and for our eventual good.

Like with any gift you give someone: some people waste it, some people use it for great advantage, some people refuse the gift.

God gave to our ancestors, they gave to us. So we should give to the future.

I just pray for God's will and power to carry that out.

Global Warming is a hoax. Green Energy from wind and solar is real...but relying on it entirely is a dangerous pipe dream.

I live in the far west burbs of Chicago, probably 45 minutes from a gigantic wind farm off of i-39. I completely get it and agree it's stupid, but i was about to send it off to some green cucks and happened to notice the date. It may even be happening now, it's pretty fucking cold ATM, but would've been laughed at sending that pic.

That was my point, albeit quite poorly made originally.

Yea...It was the only graphic I had at the moment so I went with it. Guess I got excited after the text and the call...and I had seen something earlier about it but couldn't find the link... My buddy told me they may be shut down awhile 'cause the choppers they used to de-ice are grounded...for ice...Kek...

EDIT: Send the the link I sent you...it's current and proves the point succinctly. Germany has three times the energy costs because of their embrace of 'Renewables' so the Russkies are making a killing off of NG coming down their pipes...

1
allidoiswin 1 point ago +1 / -0

The thing about this coldass weather is that usually the wind is extremely significant, so it's even worse that they're not working because they SHOULD be producing quite a bit (compared to wind's average, anyway).

Green life.

Ironically my entire home runs on Geothermal, Summer and Winter and I love it. Had some bugs with the system at first but with a 10 year warranty it was too good to pass up.

In eight years my highest electric bill ever was $170.00...and usually averages around $135.00...
