Tesla wonโ€™t likely get the contract - they donโ€™t seem to like Elon and who they slosh money to has little to do with the product or service itself. Will likely be a Chinese company or cars made in China. Also, even the base model Tesla is close to a luxury car.

Looking at the situation, I'd be more inclined to think that they would use a GM or Ford electric car. Even when Obama was president the vast majority of the stateside federal car fleet was either a Ford, GM, or Chrysler. Every once in a while we saw a Sonata.

But who knows with China Joe; although I don't remember hearing about any Chinese companies manufacturing electric cars. Not saying that they aren't, but I just don't remember it.
