your point is valid only as long as there is a fair level playing field. Similar to free , fair elections. /s

With big tech collusion/cabals they can pick off competition. Heck there are people on the right who've put forward ideas why encryption, anonymity, VPN etc should be illegal unless the honest and angelic GOVT agencies like DOJ, FBI etc gets a special backdoor (ergo making the tech exploitable).

There are already places where such things are illegal or downright banned by law. What happens if proton, vpn , etc are also made unlawful in the interest of protecting the land of the free and home of the "brave"?

Then we're no longer even living under the illusion that we can reclaim our republic. We will have devolved into tyranny. The United States would be no longer.

The US is not the land or the buildings - it is the Constitution, and if the Constitution is being ignored in toto, then it is not the US.
