A group of Germans asked Hitler to issue exemption cards for their personal Jewish close friends and long time business associates. THEY were the nice ones.
He got very mad and yelled, "if I listened to you, I would think the Jews were the best people ever."
Every German knew one Jew they liked.
It didn't help.
