Hollywood pede here. I can't tell you what a spectacularly stupid thing this was for her to do. It's called "doing a Mel" or "doing a Meg". There are two things you never, ever go near: the Holocaust, and gays. Not offering any opinion on those, but it's the way this town is. You just never, ever cross those lines no matter how accurate you might think your comparison may be. She's never, ever working again - guaranteed. I'm not saying it's right or even reasonable, but there are red lines on what constitutes an unforgivable offense.
For a little context, this isn't because of some secretive cabal or degenerate conspiracy: it's all across LA in different professions and social strata. Imagine the most irrational, hyper-sensitive feminista drama you can think of, then magnify it by 100. A huge number of Jews fled to California, and yes, Hollywood didn't speak up at all because nobody wanted to hear from Jews. If you said this in any of the fancy areas of LA, you'd be shitcanned. You can't walk far without someone who has a story about their grandparents in Europe.
You'd get this if you substitute anything for Jews - it's irrelevant she said conservatives. There are more than enough conservatives in the ranks, conservatives are audience members, Orthodox Jews are more conservative than anyone, and the moguls are worse capitalists than Wall St.

While I agree with (and updooted for it) most of your post, I think we're increasingly getting to a point where people are going to have to sacrifice jobs and careers for the truth. She may never work in Hollywood again, but that doesn't mean she won't find work doing things elsewhere.

Appreciated and absolutely agreed on creating new studios. The issue here is we lost one of ours needlessly. Anyone could have told her it was a dumb thing to do. All she had to do was word it slightly differently to get her point across. She could have written "The Holocaust was the worst evil in living memory. The echoes of the same behaviour don't fit into ideological boxes and can occur on any side. What happened to Jews didn't occur overnight ... " etc etc.
