Conservatives Conserve society and understand human nature more. Colorado legalized it, and colorado swiftly went to shit with drugs, homeless camps, crime, and liberals.

I'm not anti-weed but I don't know many success stories at the end of that rabbit hole and have yet to see a community get better after legalization.

Exactly this. No good comes of legalizing it as a stand-alone. I feel we've seen the repercussions time and again. In a general sense, yes freedom, absolutely agree. But this is a weird thing. Maybe society has a hard time with it because it's not legal everywhere so people flock to places it is, including people with other issues to start with. Idk. But it wouldn't hurt to take a look at it for five minutes before saying "sure, I've seen other places crash and burn after this legislative action, let's try here too".

Even founding fathers understood every Right came with a Responsibility. So an irresponsible society will require stricter conservation.

That's the difference between a libertarian and a Conservative. Conservatives conserve the wisdom that's proven to work for society. Libertarians support freedom at the cost of society, which wouldn't you know it... leads to destroyed societies...

I know. Everything you said. It's so challenging, some of these issues. Idgaf who smokes pot, pay for it yourself and have fun. Ideologically. Like I don't care who drinks. But now you are in your car drunk driving and I'm driving my kids on the same road and I care a lot. Finding balance can be challenging. I think the pot thing could be figured out if we thought about it for a hot second. But politicians are so greedy and see the tax revenues, everyone makes it a "muh freedoms" thing. Like, maybe we invest in some treatment centers at the same time we legalize. That preserves freedoms and doesn't just say "fuck you" to those who become addicted to whatever. I'm just thinking out loud. Idk.

Lol you think all that stuff just popped up because they legalized pot? Colorado has been the Portland of the Midwest for a long time

That's how family/friends described it. Things were turning Liberal, those liberals pushed legalization, and everything went to shit real fast.

The headline is a bit overhyped. The vote seemed to be jumping the gun. As pointed out in this article, she's merely delaying it by exactly 1 year. The article points out that North Dakota took 2 years to implement their system, and the Cannabis Public Policy Consulting group says it usually takes 14-20 months to implement. The vote happened in November 2020, and was set to begin July 1st, 2021. That's only 8 months, so this seems to make sense.

That is all, of course, only if what that group is saying isn't bullshit, and Kristi Noem isn't just trying to make sure it doesn't happen. If that's the case, fuck South Dakota. (I don't think that's the case, fwiw.)

Good for her! Enough of this bullshit drugging out our youth!!!

I'm not a youth. I'm a grown man and I own a home and work hard. I am married and have a baby coming. I want to smoke some pot once in a while without going to prison. Is that OK with you? If not, would you be willing to come try to throw me in jail yourself over this? Or would you rather pay thugs with guns and badges to come and take me away instead while you sit back in safety as the police use violence on people you've never met to enforce your personal morals on society?

*Remember folks, downvotes aren't a substitute for arguments.

After he has his vodka and tonic he’ll gladly send someone else to throw you in jail.

Please!! Stop with the bullshit of making pot sound like a cup of hot cocoa!

It is a DRUG!! Young kids develop marijuana psychosis. They go from pot to other stronger drugs.

Why do you think Democrats and the globalist cabal want it legalized? Easier to control drugged out people.

Didn't answer my question.

I didn't say "pot is a cup of hot cocoa"

Fast food is bad for kids. Whiskey is bad for kids. What's your point? Kids shouldn't smoke pot. Do you think it ever stopped them from smoking it during the decades and decades that it was illegal?

Stop hiding behind "the kids" and tell me if you think I, an adult, should go to prison if I buy some marijuana and smoke it in my own privacy.

Example: you can have junk food for breakfast and then get behind the wheel of a car and perform your am surgeries on all your patients safely assuming you are a surgeon. You cannot do the same if you are high on pot.

-1
AnointedVisions -1 points ago +1 / -2

Still doesn't anwer my question.

A surgeon can legally buy a gallon of rum, but he doesn't drink it before surgery. Because he's an adult and can make sensible choices.

You're not making any actual arguments for why a grown adult should go to prison for smoking some pot.

You obviously want to be a drugged out slave to your elite overlords. Be my guest. I dont, and dont want that crap in my children or American peoples lungs and brains. I see it as one more tool to control the masses just like the Brits used opium on the Chinese though they were more concerned with profits and not with enslaving them. That was just a nice side effect. Legalized pot is just one more nail in the coffin of western civilization.

Lol, the hyperbole is strong in you. Do you just assume people become knocked out from smoking marijuana?

Do you assume people that want it legal just want to smoke it before driving or performing dangerous tasks?

Do you just assume once it's legal there would be no restrictions?

You're literally INCAPAPBLE of making an actual argument 🤣
