That's the difference between a libertarian and a Conservative. Conservatives conserve the wisdom that's proven to work for society. Libertarians support freedom at the cost of society, which wouldn't you know it... leads to destroyed societies...

But now you are in your car drunk driving and I'm driving my kids on the same road and I care a lot. Finding balance can be challenging. I think the pot thing could be figured out if we thought about it for a hot second. But politicians are so greedy and see the tax revenues, everyone makes it a "muh freedoms" thing. Like, maybe we invest in some treatment centers at the same time we legalize. That preserves freedoms and doesn't just say "fuck you" to those who become addicted to whatever. I'm just thinking out loud. Idk.
