The motivations behind this post I fully support, but I don't think taking over the GoP is the best path for the long term survival of populism or Trumpism or whatever you want to call it.

The GoP can and WILL alter rules for their political party if we ever did get a lot of traction. You can think about this like the DNC lawsuits in 2016 over how they treated Bernie Sanders. Their defense was essentially "It's our primary and we can rig it if we want too," and the courts were like "Welp OK, Case dismissed!"

The best way to focus our political will is to just leave the idiot swamp creatures with their "party" and form our own. We might not win the presidency anytime soon, but WE weren't going to win the presidency any time soon either way, the swamp creatures in the GoP would make certain of that.
