How does Twitter lose money? Seriously, what is their budget like?
They'd have to maintain servers. Check.
They'd have to have a development team to fix bugs and stuff. Check.
They have to have a moderation team to ban conservatives. Check.
How does that reach a billion dollars? How is this not a few million at most.
These internet corps are usually extremely bloated and have ridiculous amounts of
unproductive diversity hirespeople employed. Plus, they need huge, hip "campuses" for all these people. Considering they are in the most expensive part of the country that quickly adds up.On the income side, they themselves fueled a climate where companies are less interested in running ads, which is likely their main income, e.g. due to lockdowns or because one controversy chases another which makes advertisers skittish.
They also took on a lot of venture capital money. That needs to be repaid, with interest, and investors aren't content with they usual interest rates.
The diversty hires are killing me. Can't understand anything they say and can't do anything without help. Not all of them obviously, but way too many.
Possibly. It would make business sense to boost the numbers of users to advertisers by including banned, shadow banned, frozen users, or just making the figures up entirely (remember TD subscriber count?).
