Yes, you're correct. We are "fat" and lazy. This inspired extreme weakness. The public is controlled readily by the MSM and now the even more free thought-crushing social media/tech networks. This has made worse selfishness, narcissism, and hollowed out the tools of reason. It's possible we're just at the end of the USA, which makes sense historically. I would argue this has been a long time coming (like Europe's spiral). Nothing that has happened in the last 20 years has caused a paradigm shift, it just sped the inevitable up.
Church attendance is trending lower and atheism is on the rise
Much of this has to do with a dramatic downturn in the capabilities and competence of church leaders. Separate from the SJW, liberal simping affecting most church orgs, you already had incompetent teachers filling pulpits across the nation. This leads the younger generations away from religion because they're being taught to have a critical mind at home and (hopefully) in school then go to church and an inadequate teacher tells nothing beyond surface-level Christianity, which can be torn to shreds pretty easily. Getting to the real power and meat of it takes a thoughtful consideration, like understanding anything of great value. It takes a learned person in the 21st century to teach Christianity and inspire faith. It is all related though.
Lets make a list too and point the finger at ourselves while were at it
We love to point the finger at politicos but they are really just representatives of our country aren't they?

Good points!
