The bullshit that they are pushing is the "Cult of the Almighty Accident. They say the universe is a grand accident that randomly produced ordered life for no reason. They say it has no designer and no ultimate purpose. They say it's just there and one day our "happy accident" of consciousness will just return to just being disordered energy and matter. They say that there's no one is there to hold our hand or forgive our mistakes. And they most especially want us to believe that nobody is here watching us. Most especially not the government or the technological elites. After all, we're just sheep. Slime in a petri dish for their own experiments to "improve" themselves at our expense.
(BTW, they probably have help from like-minded entities "above" - the secular among us would call them "aliens" and the religious probably call them "demons" - but they'll deny that to all heck and mock you for thinking that because they've got a cushy deal with these entities to sell us all out for their own benefit...)
