I use a private service that iirc was invite only and is full. Pirate Bay is pretty busy but there's a problem with the seed/leech numbers so it's kinda hit or miss. Torrentfreak dot com has a lot of news and info regarding torrenting.

You can just remove the torrent after the files are downloaded and that way your ISP will never find it on your computer.
