I've used tv/devices to "babysit" as well. It's totally understandable. But take heed: my kids are older now and the effort to keep them from being filled with nonsense is very hard. And it is very hard to get them to put down the devices.

A DVD player and a dozen "normal" classic kids movies works well too.
Internet Archive is amazing. I learned so much crap watching 50s-60s A/V era clips on UHF when I was a kid.
Of course, downloading it and organizing it is a PITA when you're busy.
What we really need is an independent channel with pro-US, pro-Western, kid-friendly content. Bible Story Cartoons, Good values like Work before Play, etc.

Schoolhouse Rock. I homeschooled my gifted son for a few years after the Irish education system wasn't doing it (we are American expats.) Never underestimate the power of Schoolhouse Rock. And no indoctrination. Just education.
Torrent other shows you like and build your own archive if you can. TBH today’s landscape of tv subscriptions makes piracy a more appealing option when you don’t wanna waste your money on a whole subscription just for one or two particular shows you like.
One of my son's teachers sometimes holds her 2 year old daughter on her lap to teach. She becomes part of the class! If someone can't understand your kid will make noise during a meeting, I feel for you.
