If you ever get a chance, you should visit the Holocaust Museum in DC. They have sections that talk about what eventually led to Jews being shipped to concentration camps. It took years to get to that point, Hitler took control of Germany in 1934 and the Holocaust didn't start until 1941.
Things like slowly removing rights and increasingly demonizing Jews until most people didn't think much of it when they started disappearing didn't happen overnight. Cancel culture has a lot in common with what Nazis used on Jews in the beginning.
