Exactly. I even signed up on Pureflix to give my kids some alternative content. But the library is trash and for $15 a month we cancelled it.
I've literally attached a 2 tb hard drive to our TV and have been filling it with kids shows. But at that point it's a hard drive browsing gui. It's garbage. No thumbnails and a folder structure that is harder to navigate. Their getting used to it but me explaining why I shut everything off they were used to, and why dad has gone to DC five times with flags this year is getting tiring to answer. Especially when so many on this site are still posting and using that God forsaken Twitter platform.
Fren. You need plex. I have a kids account set up and they only get “G” rated stuff. The dad shows need a password. I host my content on my pc and most smart tvs can get the plex app.
I actually have a plex account set up like you do. Kids account etc. But Comcast just limited all accounts bandwidth so my kids can't stream all day so I had to move everything to hard drives.
I would think your children's lives and future are more important that whether or not the rest of the crowd has the principles to stand for what they believe in?
I didn't ditch the streaming services and switch to personally curated content for thedonald, I did it for my kids.
Host it all locally. The only bandwidth Plex uses for me is authentication and the downloads for the stuff I want to see. The downloads aren't really through Plex even.
