Netflix ruined the buisness model for cable packages, and was getting more viewership and purchases than people adding HBO or Cinemax to their cable packages - which had reached obnoxious levels of cost. I know people who were paying $400, $500 a month because every tv in the house had to have all the channels, or the wife and kids would lose their minds.
