Don’t ever use Amazon servers though. Pick a reliable provider who won’t cave in to the mob.

It's the easy button.

Most young devs couldn't stand up a server without months of try/fail/retry attempts.

Not for lack of intelligence, but because they've never had to

Need my one click install! So called "devs" these days are pretentious lazy sacks of shit. They couldnt find there way around ssh if it bit them in the ass.

It's about reliability, scaling, and DDoS protection.

Even Patriots.win must rely on Cloudflare for DDoS. Cloudflare might have better principles than Amazon, but you must rely on someone, or your site is a trivial target to take down using DDoS. The only way to defend against DDoS is multiple data centers.

Parler now uses a Russian service (DDoS-Guard) and has been criticized for it. The DDoS protection service that you use, you must give them your site's TLS/SSL private keys. The service can impersonate your site and gets access to ALL of the traffic, in plaintext.

This is why we need someone like Torba to build a version of Cloudflare, and a lite version of AWS - even if just VM instances.

The alternative would be services based on peer-to-peer protocols. But web browsers do not speak peer-to-peer protocols, so those require installing apps. As soon as your service needs an app, Google and Apple will ban it, and people are reluctant to install on PCs.

Except for IPv6. AWS is stuck in old IPv4 NAT-centric thinking. You can't really function in AWS without IPv4, sadly. But these days you shouldn't need IPv4 for anything except for public services/endpoints that should be dual stacked IPv4/IPv6.

Even the certification tests are a joke. Not a fan of Google but their cert exams were a bitch in comparison.

Including the federal government. Idiots.

AWS isn't the problem, you can simply run stuff on your own servers.

But Cloudflare / ddos protection isn't as easily done yourself. Infact, its impossible to do it yourself.

This is rather easy if you get some capital. Just go to a data center and sign a good old solid contract, the plug in your server.

Elon Musk is deep state

I haven't ruled that out but it could go either way. He's a solid 50/50 in my book. I like him but very weary about him

The left is attacking him and hate him, I'm 70/30 on that alone. Plus he moved to Texas. 80/20

Cult of personality. Ignore the hype and his common sense tweets. Read page 77-87 and the summary https://www.plainsite.org/realitycheck/tsla.pdf

He links to a multi page dear diary about Musk, Tesla, et al that seems to have been written by a jealous ex. It's quite funny.

The executive summary and Page 77 is a good start https://www.plainsite.org/realitycheck/tsla.pdf

Money doesn't funnel in by the billions into a losing company unless it's being laundered or is promoting Deep State agenda

I'm optimistic President Trump is working on it now and part of why he's been silent.

He has the ability to do this now what he couldn't as sitting President. We lost the 2020 election battle, the War is still on. We've been holding the line, ready for a push forward to take ground.

If he does do this, it will immediately be wildly successful with all conservatives. This will be the first huge barrier any social media start up faces, immediate large following. Once that happens more people will feel easier with dropping facebook, etc to this new place without Big Brother meddling. After that, money will follow and old tech will either adapt to compete or die.
