I flew enough on United to get gold status with them pre-Chyna Virus. I basically plan to never fly anywhere again unless I can waltz in like it’s 2019. There’s more to this beautiful country than I can see in a lifetime by just driving around.
I have similar feelings, and had similar status ten years ago. Made career changes to get away from that.
I want pre-2000, and preferably pre-1970 levels of security. Then maybe I will consider flying again.
What I would really love to see is harmonization of regulations for commercial airlines and private jets. Let the elites stop opting out of the system and it would change. Same pipe dream as making Congress get the same health care our servicemen get.
It won't be long until the new regime requires traveling papers to cross state lines, just like the old Soviet Union. You needed papers to go anywhere.
