I would happily rather send money to my state instead of the IRS if my state would tell the feds to FO.

Honestly the reason state taxes are so low is because they know that people won't tolerate much more with it compounded with federal. If we stopped paying federal taxes and all of that went to only our state instead, most states could probably pull it off quite well.

One of the main reasons smaller red states tend to be net receivers of federal money is because of federally mandated entitlement programs they required to pay for
