(Germany is going through a severe cold spell and is relying heavily on traditional fuel sources) (their solar panels are snow covered and wind turbines are in bird friendly mode owing to a lack of wind)

Also learned that the wind turbines have a constant use/need for power from the grid in order to keep them from freezing. (remember those ads about power vampires in your house, unplug your toaster and microwave.... how do you unplug a wind turbine? Lets ask John Kerry !)

I have no problem with renewable energy, but wind and solar are absolutely terrible and will not solve the problem.
