I work for a Fortune 500 company, not in the healthcare or retail space, and our CEO just sent an email to all employees talking about how important vaccinations are and they’re going to be asking people their vaccination status and not getting it may impact how we can work. Can any lawyers chime in as to whether this is legal? Or if they can make me show proof? I have no problem lying to them but don’t know if they’ll ask for proof or if we can just say yes or no. To quote verbatim: “Employee vaccination status will be an essential piece of information for us to effectively and safely manage our workplace and so we will be asking employees to report when they are vaccinated. We are also considering the workplace health and safety implications of not getting the vaccine, which could impact an individual’s ability to travel and engage directly with clients and colleagues.” I’m beyond livid.

Edit: has anyone gotten the vaccine or know of anyone who has? I’m curious how closely they’re tracking individuals, like are they just giving people the card then moving on or are they logging everyone into a database to check against later?

There seems to be a lot of room to work around this bull shit if you talk to a lawyer first. I would think a good lawyer would have a field day with an employer terminating someone because they refused a vaccine that, in their own words (first paragraph from link), "wasn't approved by the FDA." There are probably 1000 arguments a good lawyer could make to tear your employer apart
