Romney was installed in a Proto-Biden way (with less dependence on machines).

Utah is often used as a ‘testbed’ marketplace to roll out new consumer products, as they are a relatively small market but highly inundated with sophisticated media, and the inhabitants are culturally deferential to authority, highly-educated low-information types, and naively conformist (i.e. when the TV tells them to do something with enough “authority”, they’ll do it along with all their friends, so you can get a lot of people to try your widget with a relatively small advertising budget, and then work out the most effective commercial messaging before you try to roll it out in the bigger cities)

Conservatives in that state tried to block him at the caucus level, but he just bypassed it and the media sold Romney like some as seen on TV! “honorable” guy.

tl;dr: Utah works as a commercial testbed because it's a Mormon theocracy masquerading as a state.

Theocracies are committed to their religion— Mormons sacrificed their temples and church services on the alter of the new religion, Covid. And they traded most of their dogma for tax-free real-estate and financial leverage, and that sweet sweet government immigrant resettlement services cheese. And I heard they made their meetinghouses ‘2nd Amendment free zones’ even before that,

Amen!!! I’ve been saying this to everyone here. The kool-aid is strong though. Stupid theocracies are so damn corrupt. A quick dig into the mormon corporation and it’s 34 billion dollars in liquid assets should raise anyone’s eyebrows but they don’t even twitch at that news. Feels bad man when your family & friends are in a cult.

Please read the Articles Of Faith (and preferably the Book Of Mormon) before discussing corruption in the church.

  1. We are warned, repeatedly, of what happens when individuals and leaders in the church become deceived. We are warned, explicitly, that the "very elect" (read: leaders & role models) will be led astray.

  2. We are warned, repeatedly, that no mortal on this earth is to be relied upon, and that ALL revelation needs to be verified directly by ones personal connection to God. "Blind" faith is actively discouraged.

Instead of judging the church based on the people who flagrantly ignore the teachings and warnings in the Book Of Mormon, I would much rather you judge the church based on the people who are making an honest attempt at living the gospel.

ALL religions have criminals trying to ruin it for the majority. I'm not Mormon and I DO NOT tolerate or agree with others criticizing and mocking your beliefs and choice of religion. If they are true Patriots they support the liberties and freedom of religion in this country. Otherwise they should go to Twitter where hateful remarks are acceptable.

As proof we all make mistakes, there was a time when I like Romney.

Now when I email his senate office I start with,

Dear Pierre,

This pede speaks truth! There’s a reason pyramid schemes thrive here. It’s a state of deferential sheeple. Nice sheeple for the most part but definitely useful idiots badgered into compliance by their leaders. The religion demands absolute adherence (source: am exmormon)
