Seriously though, we all laugh our asses off at Bernie Sanders for drafting endless legislation that goes absolutely nowhere.

How is this any less silly.

Creates a paper trail of who is swamp.

How else could one determine who gets rewarded later for their swampy tendencies?

In Minecraft, of course.

How long does that paper trail need to be?

Not gonna generate a paper trail, because the Democrats control the House, which means it won't even come up for a vote.

Does it though? It'll never be voted on.

It establishes where the Overton window needs to go.

Our position is not "common sense gun control". It is no gun control.

This establishes that as where we will negotiate from.

My original family is all leftwing (mom dad brother sisters).

I grew up hearing all their bullshit and understand exactly how their slippery slope shit works and how to counter it.

It's become a slippery CLIFF

This isn't where the window needs to go. It needs to go far further. Gun control is already explicitly unconstitutional so we shouldn't need a bill to defund gun control agencies. Why does it even exist in the first place? Because the corrupt courts rewrote the explicit text of the constitution to allow it. We need every judge who has ever supported gun control in any form impeached and then executed for treason. When I see a resolution introduced advocating for that, then we can say that's where the Overton window needs to be.

We also need the income tax to be rescinded and for the fed to raise rates and stop printing money.

But none of that is gonna happen peacefully, which means we aren't talking about legislation.

Sir hanging Judge Overton!

Then why not a bill to repeal the laws rather than make their enforcement necessarily selective?

Especially considering that even this has no realistic chance of passing why not go the full monte?

8
Itateeverybody 8 points ago +8 / -0

Ok, have you tried emailing or calling your representative and asking them to draft such legislation?

2
Forbidden_outcast 2 points ago +2 / -0

What laws have been repealed since the beginning of the country?

2
NormaJeanRocks 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is being pushed in state legislatures where it actually passed in Missouri. I see this more as a way to get SAPA publicity. Everyone needs to see how they can get this passed in their own state. We don't need this passed at the federal level. We need all the states to refuse to comply with an unconstitutional federal government. Use the states to revoke Biden's authority and make his administration a living hell for the democrats.

It's use of state power as a form of "soft secession". It's a smart move and every red state needs to start throwing down hard. I bet the Keystone XL pipeline could be continued if each of the connecting states just said fuck you Xiden.

ProfessorOak 8 points ago +8 / -0

I'm hoping the states will get a little taste of the kind of power they used to wield and keep pushing for more sovereignty.

6
HeavyMetalPatriot 6 points ago +6 / -0

1000% agreed! But state power, not governor power. It's gotta be the people of the state flexing their power.

Pierre_Delectoes 5 points ago +5 / -0

State's passing this law does nothing. Its like the blue states refusing to cooperate with federal agents on immigration. The federal agents still enforce the law in those states, they just don't get state backup or intelligence.

What we need are states to start decriminalizing killing or assaulting federal agents executing unlawful gun control actions within that state. The guy in the Gulag Archipelago said it best. If the jackboots of the tyrannical government have to fear for their lives every time they go to enforce an unjust law, there will be far fewer jackboots.

I remember people laughing at Bernie 20 years ago for being a socialist. Now look at where we are at. It's all about moving the Overton Window.

So republicans should do nothing? That's part of the problem.
