I don’t think they are shifting right. They voted for trump, there is a big difference but it would show as “leaning right” since trump was a republican. Had he been an independent it would be whatever color that represents.

Oregon here. I don't know if it's California transplants or wealthy do-gooders that didn't have to suffer the decline of this country but in my suburb, there's a fair amount of leftism with signs for Black Lives Matter, "No Human is Illegal" and other statements. I'd say it's about 50/50 left/right. The right probably need to keep to themselves. We have a lot of wannabe communists who would love to rat out other people.
