He's not the first and he won't be the last. There have been a lot of stories similar to this one unfortunately. The suicides were so bad in LA (many in succession, the youngest being a 9 year old) they were "forced" to reopen schools.

In my leftist run district, kids are allowed to go to school to wrestle and play basketball for their high school, but they are forbidden from going to their classes to learn. The only reason is that the sports coaches don’t unionize like the teachers do.

I’ve seen some schools in my area that allowed say, K through five to go back to school but middle and high school is still fully remote. I don’t understand the logic, but realize there is none behind it. You have a little kids you probably don’t understand what is going on in our constantly touching their masks, etc. Well the age demographic that intheory would know how to handle it must stay home.

TiltedOutOfBall3 27 points ago +33 / -6

touching their masks

I see adults doing this all the time. It's one of my biggest pet peeves, especially when it's done by the self-righteous mask nazi's.

NeverTwitterer 42 points ago +47 / -5

Why a pet peeve lol. Huge % of people wear a mask just to not be hassled and dont actually give a fuck about it. I touch mine all the time and I think Ive used my current disposable one 2 months now. I removed the inner filter to make it breathable and sanatize it in my freezer. lol.

thisisatestof2 4 points ago +4 / -0

Remember when Dr Fraud said not to touch your face, then made you wear a mask and touch your filthy mask and face all the time? For example, touch filthy mask, enter restaurant, take off mask eat meal, etc.

Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

I do it all the time and I don't give a shit.

14
Pegstar69 14 points ago +14 / -0

The logic is babysitting. Middle school and up, the state decided they can be home alone.

12
thisguy883 12 points ago +12 / -0

My daughters private school is still open and allowing students from all grades. They still have to wear masks though because our city is a liberal shithole.

I have to wash my daughters mask everytime she comes home because of how filthy it gets just from 1 day of use.

She is in Pre-K.

Also imagine the psychological damage being done to young children who won't grow up socializing properly and seeing people's full facial expressions. The damage will last for a generation, at least

7
usa_foot_print 7 points ago +7 / -0

They do it for a few reasons. Older kids can get some of their social needs online (but they are still severly lacking a lot but don’t realize it). Young kids can’t. Also young kids must be watched by parents a lot more than middle or high school kids thus the parents can still work.

little kids are nasty disease vectors even when there is no plague

9
DonJr2024 9 points ago +9 / -0

Yes and no and you don't need to add the word "nasty" like you weren't a kid yourself. This isn't reddit. If kids were left alone to spread covid between them, it is very likely that it would have weakened quickly to the point of being indistinguishable from the flu (it almost is anyway).

Kids do exactly what they have evolved to do.

And old people are "nasty" too.

So are dogs, licking each others butts and then licking your face.

7
Belleoffreedom 7 points ago +7 / -0

They aren't a disease vector for this plague.

7
TrumpWonBigly2020 7 points ago +7 / -0

Aren't the coaches also teachers though? I've never heard of a sports coach who wasn't also a teacher

8
BalorGafdan 8 points ago +8 / -0

It depends on the union contract. Usually they have to offer the position to a teacher first, the it can go to someone else. Source: I was a coach :P

2
TrumpWonBigly2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hmmm, very interesting! Never knew that was a thing.

1
RolandDelacroix 1 point ago +1 / -0

Big schools with a well know sports program could have a full time coach, particularly in wealthy areas

1
tombombadil 1 point ago +1 / -0

About half of them are. It is not required in my area.

WHY ARE CONSERVATIVES SENDING THEIR KIDS TO SHITHOLE COMMIE INDOCTRINATION CENTERS??

HOMESCHOOL!

60
ChrisTheSoberITGuy 60 points ago +70 / -10

Because most parents both need to work just to keep the lights on and food on the table Unless you're a refugee or illegal immigrant, then you have all the aid in the world and can pop out 6 kids without worry.

E: lots of retards saying "just do it" that have no idea how much we already cut corners. Guarantee none of these idiots even have kids.

SaltyBobCat 35 points ago +35 / -0

I was in a homeschool program called jumpstart I was given packets to do on my own time at home then I could come in whenever from normal hours 8-5 turn them in and take tests there was also 3-4 staff who where teachers there to administer test and help tutor students who needed extra help with their packets I finished 4 years of high school in 2 years fuck public schooling!

I have to submit curriculum and lessons plans to my superintendent and state for approval, it’s a full time job to homeschool, now if I could just get my tax dollars back I wouldn’t be so bitter about it, who am I kidding, this is Biden’s Amerixa

Not if you choose to live in a smaller house or share one car or take fewer vacations. It's all about priorities.

17
Dum_spiro_spero 17 points ago +18 / -1

This. 100% this. Your kids minds are worth living in a damn shack in the hood to make it work (the hood ain't so bad).

16
Mashiki 16 points ago +17 / -1

Look man, that's bullshit right out of the bat. You don't need both parents for it, you need trusted friends and/or relatives who can help you school your kids.

When our provincial government(Ontario under Wynne) decided ~6 years ago that they weren't going to keep our rural schools open, and wanted to bus kids 2hrs everyday to a mega school, that was enough of the bullshit. Around 85% of our community homeschools, we're not in some nowhere land of Ontario either(like the far north), rather we're down in SW-Ontario which isn't really rural not even urban-rural anymore.

Your “can’t do” attitude is problem.

35
endthefed11 35 points ago +36 / -1

By virtue of owning property we fund these cunty teachers' unions to the tune of thousands a year. It's a racket, and you can't opt out.

33
Electionfraudsucks 33 points ago +33 / -0

We gotta go after property taxes. Unconstitutional to fund anything but police/fire/trash with them

29
kt524 29 points ago +29 / -0

Unconstitutional to have them at all, how can you say that you "own" something if the gov will take fat bites out of your wallet and send people with guns to arrest you if you refuse?

18
Uzaka123 18 points ago +18 / -0

Police fire trash water electricity.

17
endthefed11 17 points ago +17 / -0

It goes against my religion to fund neo-marxism and BLM "education."

4
c89631147e 4 points ago +8 / -4

Sure you can.

Just requires you to get off your fat lazy ass and run for school board. 🤷🏼‍♂️

18
BlaineBug 18 points ago +18 / -0

Running for school board doesn't mean shit if you don't win due to the indoctrinated voters prefering a leftist board.

4
endthefed11 4 points ago +4 / -0

You think school board members don't pay property taxes to the school district? I am not aware of any locale where all property owners are not forced to fund the public schools.

12
ContraryMerry 12 points ago +12 / -0

Why should we? Change the shithole commie indoctrination centers! If we pull out of society, they will be free to get even worse than they are. No. Our kids have a right to an education in a standardized setting. Some will do better homeschooling, but others won't. One of mine needed the whole school experience. The other was homeschooled most of his primary and two years of his secondary school experience. The homeschooled one is on a full scholarship to an Ivy League school and he challenges this bs. The other plays football for his university. Best of both worlds in my family. Both have been raised to think for themselves and look past school textbooks, choosing sources better than Wikipedia. Stg, my kids are the future. Conservative, smart, talented and driven to get rid of this liberal hysteria. A lot of their generation is based. They've seen the millenials and don't want to be like that.

6
Wind-chasing_luhua 6 points ago +6 / -0

Doesn't the government make it expensive and put a lot of hurdles in your way that you gotta jump over constantly?

I heard that they won't let someone who isn't a parent or guardian homeschool a child

10
iDinduNuffin 10 points ago +10 / -0

In some states, yeah.

Get out of those states

Wife owns her own business and works all day.

I work all day for my job and I don't have time to sit down and teach my kid.

We pay for a private school. Better than a shithole public school. Smaller classes and more hands on.

Best part is that they don't teach liberal nonsense like BLM or there are a million genders. It's a Catholic school.

Every instructor I've met is conservative as fuck and they really don't like the liberal bullshit that is going on out there. When I told the assistant principal of my complete and utter disgust with BLM, he had the biggest smile and said he agreed.
