Why am I asking this question here? Because the internet at large has become insane, and if I ask it elsewhere I'll probably be attacked for asking a perfectly reasonable question.

Corpus Christi's beaches are nice. Galveston's beaches are good as well, but they are more seaweed brown rather than emerald green up near the beach (grew up around there and went often).

What's Corpus Christi like in terms of the area? What are the culture and people like there? Thank you in advance sir.

I've only been there once unfortunately. I mostly went to Galveston. It's still a nice place. It's still a beach, and it goes all along one side of the island. Just youtube the beaches in Texas and that will be the best resource for you.

Mustang Island off Corpus Christi is great. The town of Corpus is not that interesting imho. There is Texas State Park on Mustang Island.Drive a little past the State Park and you can park your car in front of the ocean. There are toilets, you can light campfires and even camp overnight.Always lots of friendly Texans fishing, grilling and drinking.

Port Aransas and South Padre Island are both very nice.

It's the Gulf of Mexico... there's no water flow, so the beaches are pretty shit.

You clearly have never been to Destin. The beaches of the panhandle and Gulf Shores are considered some of the best in the world.

beaches of the panhandle

Ah, the beaches on the great Oklahoma Sea.

I think of FL when I think of the panhandle.

Galveston is the can't get to another beach option. Proximity to cargo vessel shipping lanes contributes to a constant churn that keeps the water opaque brown. Very sea weedy. Beaches are drive on in many areas and thus hard packed. No soft sugar sand beaches. Many interesting things to do in Galveston, but if you're wanting quality beach time, move along.

Have you been to Rockport? I've heard it's nice, but haven't been.

Rockport used to have awesome fishing piers until that hurricane fucked everything up a few years ago. Don't know if they've rebuilt them

I haven't, but I haven't heard anything negative about it. I've heard more talk about fishing, bird watching etc than beach time. My impression is their beach area isn't as long as other areas, but I'd bet they've made the most of it. I'd also bet they won't have throngs of the beer stupid. Worth you looking into it further.

Rockport is nice but doesn't have the open ocean beach. It is on the Aransas Bay.

I've only been to South Padre. It's meh. But I have high standards -- white sands + tropical weather. Nothing compares to Boracay for me.
