TX pedes, give me the lowdown: What are the nicest (non-ghetto and non-trashy) beach areas in TX? I am referring to places with at least some population, and not to wildlife preserve type of beach areas. Thanks in advance.

Why am I asking this question here? Because the internet at large has become insane, and if I ask it elsewhere I'll probably be attacked for asking a perfectly reasonable question.

I haven't, but I haven't heard anything negative about it. I've heard more talk about fishing, bird watching etc than beach time. My impression is their beach area isn't as long as other areas, but I'd bet they've made the most of it. I'd also bet they won't have throngs of the beer stupid. Worth you looking into it further.

Rockport is nice but doesn't have the open ocean beach.It is on the Aransas Bay.
