Yes. Traditionally, vaccines contain weakened viruses to allow our body to confidently beat it and naturally build antibodies to said virus.

Supposedly, this injects man-made mRNA into our body (the part of the virus that sticks to your cells that causes illness). That mRNA is made to replicate the mRNA of COVID-19 to develop anti-bodies. This idea has been around and tested for quite some time, but this is the first vaccine to be released using that kind of technique. Like the flu shot, it doesn’t guarantee you won’t get the virus, but supposedly sets your body up to fight it without the risking the more severe symptoms of the virus.

If that’s truly all it is, it’s a wonder and a huge breakthrough in the pharma world that could potentially and severely limit the damage caused by bioweapons.

I’m skeptical that’s all that’s in the concoction, and not interested in being the guinea pig of an injection that’s gone largely untested.

My parents are in their 70s, both at very high risk due to other medical conditions. I’ve voiced my concerns with them, but also know neither of them would likely survive if they were to contract COVID. In the end it’s their choice, and the dark reality is if there’s a nasty side effect to it all, it’s better to have to deal with that at the tail end of your life than in the beginning or middle of it.
