DISCLAIMER: I am not a medical expert or even have a fully functioning brain. I bought $GME @ $435 and smoke sawdust. I resist forming an opinion on anything until my TV tells me what to think.
TLDR: You will be nervous and stressed, but will rarely be confronted. Be kind, ignore/avoid when able, and be ready to take your business elsewhere. Do not give Karen a viral moment.
I live in a red state that does not have draconian mask laws, but all of the local businesses still have a "mask required" sign on their doors. Everyone wears a mask everywhere I go, except me. I avoid pro-mask businesses like Costco because I know they will force a confrontation (saving a ton of $$$ too).
RELAX: You will feel uncomfortable for a while, waiting for Karen to start screaming at you. This will keep you on edge and under stress for weeks, so get used to it. Keep calm and carry on, because a confrontation rarely happens with men (sadly, women tend to be Karen magnets when alone). It has been months since I wore a mask and I still feel on edge when I enter a new business/place.
BE KIND: When asked to wear a mask, remember that the person asking likely hates wearing one too, but feel it's their job to compel you to comply. Even people who claim masks do not work will wear one to avoid peer pressure. A simple "No Thank You" or a redirect to comment about the weather usually works fine. Be ready to walk away or leave if the situation warrants it. Karen wants to make an example of you, do not give her a viral moment.
SADNESS: You will begin to feel sadness and pity for those around you that continue to wear a mask. I sit in church each Sunday, trying to focus on the Lord, but distracted by the Greek tragedy being played out in front of me. It is worse when you know many profess anti-mask sentiments in private but join the sheeple in public. True sadness will come as you see how conditioned the youth are, wearing their mask to "protect their family". I am sad, just writing this...
JOY: You may not know it, but you are making a difference. One by one, you will see more and more people go maskless and it will bring you a sense of joy. There may be eye contact, a knowing smile, or a head nod in passing. You will begin to regain confidence in your choices and live your life without fear.
I hope this is helpful, but I have to cut it short because my wife just walked into my office naked...got to go!
Great stuff, especially "Be ready to walk away", in true Trump style.
I don't wear a mask, but I also have mostly stopped shopping in stores. Used to go to walmart multiple times a week. Haven't been since they mandated everyone wear one in their store, even before there was a statewide governors mandate to wear one. Fuck them. I noticed recently that they still have big signs up in front of the building stating masks are required and they had loudspeakers out front playing a message that masks are required...
Mostly shop online now, but I go into gas stations and a few stores/restaurants that I've found don't care or don't say anything if you aren't wearing a mask. Fuck the rest of the businesses. I'll never go back to them. I'll continue going to the select places that don't force you to wear a mask, even well after wuhan is over.
That's good but it's important people are seen in public with no mask on.
Yeah, havent been participating in the economy much anymore personally. Hoping it all collapses cataclysmicly to be honest.
Exactly what the commies are hoping for also
Are you nuts? We shouldn't want our country to fail, we should want it to change.
Nah. I think it’s so far gone that a complete collapse is needed to start over. Either that or large majority of the states secede.
The only people I know of that arent totally asleep are people I communicate with through computer bits on this site. From my real life world view, seeing everybody get crushed under the systems collapse would be the shred of justice for the mass ignorance I need right now. No justice coming from anywhere else these days. I will be just fine, so fine that I will be laughing at everyone's miserable ass when they get what they deserve. I can dream at least..
Walmart also recently started using security guards in my stores.
They are a joke, but....still....smh
Haven't shopped at walmart since they had the tweet making fun of Josh Hawley. I've been looking for a good excuse to not shop there for years and this was good enough... now I have to pay $4 a month more for kitty food by getting it at the normal grocery store but worth it.
Chewy is a wonderful site to get your pet supplies. They get the items to your door pretty quickly. I use them religiously even before WuFlu.
they got rid of support for mike the pillow guy, they are owned by pet smart. anti trump
Thanks I’ll check it out.
The food I use for my cat is $14 at Walmart.
$18 at my grocery store and $23 at petco!!
I agree. Any place that has given me a hard time I will never spend money at again.
Good catch. Trump, the deal maker, is always ready to walk away from a deal.
