I've never seen a white baby where one of the parents were black. That's all.

I've never seen a white baby where one of the parents were black.

Laughs in Shaun King

But in all seriousness they're still black, it's just that they're lightskin because of the dad and you can't see their facial features in the picture. Talking about Candace's baby not Shaun King....

Meghan Markle

I think Meghan is 3/4 white. Her mom is mixed race.

That's only when the father is black. When the mother is black it's not that uncommon for the child to look more white.

I've seen a lot of black babies who are really light skinned at birth. I'm not sure why, I just know what I've seen.

True. I used to work on a post-partum unit and so did my mom. Always a fun time when the mom and "dad" are both light-skinned redheads, and the baby has light skin but clear African-American features.... oops. Lol.

Thanks for sharing your story. I lived in NOLA and Lafayette for several years and personally saw what you describe.

I’m on NOLA too and it is true about light skinned blacks having a hard time from darker blacks. White people are much better to them. I used to date a gorgeous black girl who was just incredibly smart and had a lot going for her, but it didn’t work out because her family didn’t like whitey

Not surprising at all based on my personal experiences also, 😞

Never knew that!

I grew up in an all black neighborhood. We were the only white people in 2 sq miles. The babies had african features, but were light AF. Not all of them....but a significant amount.

The dad is white and Africa Americans on average are also about 25 percent white.. so yeah, it checks out.
