Someone told me that this was about the genetically-modified insulin and that the generic, old-fashioned insulin is still available at any pharmacy for a couple of bucks. Anyone know enough to confirm or deny this?.
I can confirm. Insulin has been around $25 at Walmart for years and years. Most people don't know this. Even nurses I worked with in the HC industry were shocked to find out. That type of insulin is actually OTC. You can walk right up and buy it with no prescription.
The issue is quality though, the OTC stuff doesn't do as good of a job managing spikes. It will do in a pinch though.

That's good to know. Thanks
