Trump's lawyers need to support the voting process. They need to say that barring President Trump from running again would prohibit the public and electors from voting for a popular candidate. This could lead to a situation where candidates need to seek senate or full congressional approval in order to run. This is precisely what tyrants do.

They need to address this. It won't change the democrats minds (because they don't have minds), but it might sway to the audience watching at home.
