You are wrong and naive.

If that's the case, elaborate and educate me further, or are you content to do the old NPC hit 'n run?

You seem to think violence is only limited or defined when directed directly at a person. Violence is an aggressive action - the target doesn't matter.

The rationale you are using is the same argument that CNN, leftist politicians and others used to explain that ANTIFA and BLM protests were not violent.

Context matters. Haven't you noticed that whenever they talk about the "violence", it is usually in conjunction with talk of 6 dead people and a dead police officer? They are trying to blur the lines and make the general populace think Trump supporters killed 6 people. This is on top of the already tarnished reputation Trump supporters have in general due to mainstream media lies. I don't think most people actually have a clue what happened at the Capitol, they hear the carefully crafted language put out by MSM talking heads and let their imaginations fill in the gaps. To think otherwise, now THAT would be naive.

So it is incredibly important we fight the accusations of "violence", because when most people hear talk of violence they assume the worst. They think we are stone cold killers. Its not OK to let them set the frame that BLM riots= protesting while a couple rowdy people =violent insurrection. In reality, not much happened at the capitol and I would love if anyone could show me something so bad it matches the hyperbole I hear about it every single day.

We aren't talking about a devolved usage of a word here - legally violence is an action - the target is irrelevant.

These are the same people who want us to think that owning property is theft while also making the argument that destroying property is not violence.
