That's pretty much what I've been talking about. The Constitution has been relegated to the status of an historical document. In terms of its impact on our country, it may as well be the Code of Hammurabi.

Trump's first amendment rights exist regardless of voter fraud. It's the better argument.
You say it’s the better argument. Arguments or what? His vote was deleted, so was mine. Probably yours as well. There’s nothing more fundamental about the first amendment than voting. And this isn’t a court of law. It is a missed opportunity however. Mark my words, they will bring criminal charges next.
This trial is all about politics but it is NOT about voter fraud.
The house managers case is built on Trump's words and actions ahead of the incident on Jan 6.
Arguing Trump's words and actions are justifiable given voter fraud requires proving something for which there is not yet a smoking gun. And since there is no proof that can't be dismissed as partisan, Trump looks like a sore loser.
It also links a Senator's vote to aquit to an acknowledment of voter fraud, something that will be used against them in a campaign (it's a threat to our democracy!)
Arguing protected speech only requires showing the hypocrisy of the Democrats via video as has been done today. It gives Senators a cover to vote to aquit bc it does not put them in a politically tricky place.
At the end of the day the objective is to prevent the Democrat's ploy from succeeding.
