I worked with a brilliant attorney. In his speciality one of the best in the country. But he was from a lesser known law firm in a smaller western town. Certainly not a powerhouse firm from NY, DC, LA, or Chicago.

He would often, (knowingly), wear ill fitting suits off the rack from J.C. Penney to important conferences. He was self depreciating and would sometimes appear to be unrefined, even sloppy. We called him Colombo.

Because, the other side would play him for a fool, over his head and out of his comfort zone. They let down their guard until just when they least expected it he would cut off their head and balls before they even knew what happened.

I am reminded of him today as the President's lawyers present the defense.
