You should learn because it's fun, it's cheaper, and it's healthier. But yeah, I've scored many points over the years, cooking meals for dates. I usually throw that in around the third date. :) It's even better when two cooks get together.
Get a copy of "The Joy Of Cooking", it covers most things - you can branch out into more exotic things from there.
Joy of Cooking, Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking- Marcella Hazan, Mastering the Art of French Cooking- Julia Child. These three books have you covered pretty well for making dinner for any date.
From watching a lot of American shows like all the house hunter ones - it would seem you guys HAVE to learn to cook because just about every white or black woman I see on those shows doesn't even know how to cook! You would starve to death. What happened to the women? All they seem to care about is the size of their closets. Genuine question from an Aussie woman.
Lol! That is drama for the television folks. To be fair, many young women (and men) didn’t learn to cook the same way my generation did because they were in families where the moms were also working so they were living off of fast food, BUT the young people in my family are good cooks, including the teenagers. They have been started young, and like laundry, cooking is forever...
I'm old - 55. Both my parents worked and we still had home cooked meals everyday. I just wonder why a lot of Americans seem to rely so much on fast food. I saw many people freaking out during riots and lockdowns because they couldn't access their fast food joints. Glad to hear that people are still doing it right. I can't understand reliance on others for something that like, keeps you alive! Thanks for answering fren =)
Well, Basically women, and I'd be surprised if it isn't that way down there too and you aren't young enough (guessing) to be a part of it, have been taught they are oppressed by doing girl things.
As a result, they have to only do guy things, which they often do badly, or assume they can do until they try, where upon they feel bad because they can't do guy stuff as well as guys can without a lot more effort, and sometimes not even then.
Eventually, they wake up to the fact they have been had, but usually that takes them 30 years and by then it's too late.
I'm working on the married thing. This one is a keeper.
One of my buddies growing up had an Asian Mom. We all loved sleepovers there because she was the best damn cook around.
My gal is a heckuva cook too, but she's just as into fitness as I am so it's almost always healthy.
You want to keep a girl, learn to cook yourself.
Once you are in control of the kitchen, you're in control.
