That's a fact. Many cities created their own ordinances to mandate them and grant their own police departments to enforce it via citations. If you look at some of their city webpages, they will cite the governor's mandate in justification for doing their ordinances. So in essence, it all falls back on him. Once he lifts this bullshit, a lot of places around the state will stop the BS. I live outside of Austin and the mask obsession is crazy all over here.
Abbott put a mask mandate in place last year, plus cities like to make up their own versions of it. Mayors gotta flex yanno.
