You make an excellent point. They were planning on the Trumps speech starting exactly on time, watch if anyone who’s ever been to a Trump rally knows, they frequently start late. They set their clock to a specific time and went for it without even paying attention two if the speech was still ongoing, etc.

I think the timeline argument is a little weak because livestreams are a thing, and it's not like there weren't people near the Capitol listening to Trump's speech that way.

Pence released a letter shortly after Trump’s speech began saying he wasn’t going to get in the way and allow the contested states to be certified. You can see how some would see the writing on the wall there and head to the Capitol to rage out. To blame it all on antifa agitators discounts the genuine anger people felt.
