I've come to the opinion that while 9/11 wasn't an inside job, US intelligence agencies knew what the terrorists were planning and stood aside to let it happen.
Personal theory: they knew it was coming and took advantage of it. IIRC building 7 and the wing the Pentagon was hit both had the right archives for auditing DoD expenditures, assets, budgets, etc.
Are there any legitimate theories available besides the "planes were holograms" garbage?
Edit: I'm not trying to dispute these theories. I'm just interested in looking into the ones that are realistic
