The reason is to push the idea that everyone is crazy. Trump not being eligible to run is just the icing on the cake. Anything that further divides the country is what you will see.

The whole point of the impeachment is they are trying to keep him from starting a third party and seceding
Nice thing is, with Trump, he doesn't need to hold any public office to make this all happen.
His influence is already so powerful. He can hold rallies anywhere, and steer the ship for hundreds of millions of people.
If a state becomes its own union, Trump would be allowed to become a leader there, in public office.
With that said, I doubt he'd want to.
I bet Trump is against secession, unless they do impeach and further attempt to destroy him.
Then, he might support it. And if he does, it will happen for a fact.
